Ashton Vale Primary

DSC01617We are a friendly, community school, rural and yet urban, tucked away in Ashton Vale.  In 2015 we currently have approximately 200 children here and we endeavour to encourage and appreciate each of their very different talents, interests and strengths. The school aim is to empower children to create a considered future of their choice and make sense of their changing world.

Ashton Vale Primary School is proud to be part of the South West Bristol Co-operative Learning Trust.  Along with our fellow Trust schools we share the Co-operative values of self help, self responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. We believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others. We believe that it is very important for children, parents, teachers and the community to work together to support children as they begin to acquire an increasingly broad range of knowledge, skills and understanding.  As an active member of the Trust there are numerous opportunities for children throughout the school year covering all areas of the Curriculum, some examples include the Handfuls of Harmony Choir, Sports events, Language days and Writing competitions.  Alongside this there are also opportunities for parents and members of the Ashton Vale Community through a range of activities organised by the Trust.  We also utilise the talents and strengths of the individual schools in the Trust by sharing expertise through networking, collaborative training days and meetings for planning and curriculum provision.  Ashton Vale School is above all other things a community of people – children, parents and carers, teachers, support staff and governors – who are committed to the high standards of expectation, achievement and mutual care in all aspects of the life of the school. We believe that together we each have a vital part to play in this exciting process.
