Congratulations to our children here at Ashton Vale who have been awarded the accolade of ‘School of the Year‘ for our entry into the Bristol Reading Project. This city wide competition involved entries from each class in the school, who spent the term exploring the set books and producing a wide variety of high quality work based on their text. The Project noted
“the outstanding whole school commitment to teaching and learning using good quality children’s literature.
The judging panel really enjoyed seeing your entry, they were impressed by the immersive and engaging nature of the children’s learning. Well done to you all.”
The judging panel were also very impressed with our Year 6 entry and awarded them ‘Runner Up Prize’ in the 7-11 years category, stating that their entry was “really inspiring“. The school will be collecting our awards at the ceremony later in the month.
Well done to all of the children and staff for their hard work and great achievement!
